Education Systems Center has launched a podcast, Systems Sessions! In Systems Sessions, we explore big, current issues in education policy through conversations with the EdSystems team, policymakers, and community leaders who are on the ground leading this work. While focused on the State of Illinois, Systems Sessions brings a national and global lens to policies that prepare more young people for success in college and careers. For more details on the types of conversations we will be having, listen to our introduction podcast:
The Dual Credit Landscape in Illinois
Our first series dives into the work behind the development of the Model Partnership Agreement (MPA) and how it is being implemented in communities. In the first episode of Systems Sessions, you will hear directly from members of the State of Illinois Dual Credit Committee about the development process and how this agreement is shaping dual credit delivery across Illinois. Joining us for this conversation are committee members Peggy Heinrich, Vice President of Teaching, Learning, and Student Development at Elgin Community College, and Jesse Faber, Pontiac Township High School Educator.
Next, listen in to our second episode to further explore the current landscape of dual credit and the need for the Dual Credit Quality Act and the MPA with Marcus Brown, Senior Director for Academic Affairs with the Illinois Community College Board. Josh Stafford, Superintendent of Vienna High School will also join us in this episode to describe how a rural community in southern Illinois has provided extensive access to dual credit and the impact the MPA is having.
We look forward to having you join the conversation!
