Unlocking the Power of AI for Work-Based Learning

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we prepare students for college and careers. In our recent Illinois Work-Based Learning Innovation Network session, Learning Technology Center presented real-world applications of AI for educators and learners. Key highlights include:

  • Efficiency Meets Empathy: Tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini can draft sensitive emails, create recommendation letters, and build internship orientation presentations, freeing educators to focus on relationships, not paperwork.
  • Student-Centered Innovation: AI can simulate mock interviews, guide career research, and even role-play job scenarios, helping students build confidence before stepping into the workplace.
  • Data Visualization Made Simple: From analyzing student interest surveys to creating interactive infographics, AI turns raw data into actionable insights.
