Nurturing Future Talent: School and Nonprofit Collaboration to Provide Work-Based Learning Opportunities for High School Students

In today’s rapidly evolving job market, it is crucial to equip high school students with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in their future careers. Work-based learning programs and internships have emerged as effective strategies to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world work environments. At the same time, schools are juggling many priorities, and it can be challenging to engage external partners effectively to offer these services. On March 19, 2024, Genesys Works, Junior Achievement, and their school partners shared their work to provide career exploration experiences, internships, and virtual opportunities to engage with industry mentors.
