EdSystems Policy Agenda Launch

In Illinois, our work to improve college and career readiness for students has resulted in notable progress in practice and student outcomes, including increasing rates of early college credit course participation and decreasing rates of postsecondary remediation. However, our systems still show inequitable rates of access and success for students from historically marginalized communities. To improve student access and outcomes across Illinois, EdSystems is setting forth a policy agenda to guide our work in the next three to five years, responding to the challenges our partners face in serving their students across the state.

On January 27, we shared our aims and the changes we seek to advance alongside our local, statewide, and national partners across our four policy pillars:

  • Leadership, Governance, & Vision
  • Student Experience & Conditions
  • Policy Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Future Readiness

We look forward to kicking off work to advance our aims in service of more equitable systems for our students.
