Benjamin Boer
Senior Director of Data Benjamin Boer leads EdSystems’ data portfolio, including the Success Network Dashboard, our data collaborative efforts, and the data portions of our pathways and innovation work. He also provides support on policy issues, including school finance, assessment, accountability, and data use.
In past roles, Ben has provided analytical and modeling support for numerous K–12 funding proposals, the development of integrated data systems, and accountability approaches. This work was integral in the development of Evidence-based funding, the Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Act, and the state’s Every Student Succeeds Act. Ben is currently working with Chicago Public Schools on the redesign of their accountability system.
Ben is a PhD candidate in educational policy studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He focuses on the use of data in schools and its impact on school culture. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computer science from Brown University, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago. He sits on the board of Chicago Run, an organization that brings running programs to underserved schools in CPS.
