ARE INCORPORATED INTO
At EdSystems we work with partners to develop policies that support successful student transitions from high school, to and through postsecondary education, and into careers.
YOUTH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
An exciting strain of work exists around addressing the youth employment gap through both the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the work of business-facing youth employment intermediaries, aligning business and youth needs.
THE POSTSECONDARY & WORKFORCE READINESS ACT
The Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR) Act (HB 5729), passed the Illinois House and Senate unanimously in May 2016, and signed by Governor Rauner in July 2016, is a student-centered approach to college and career readiness. Students are not graduating high school prepared to succeed in either college or career. Many students require remediation after leaving high school and do not have access to career exploration and preparation activities while still in high school. Additionally, most students and families are unclear which milestones they should be reaching in order to graduate and transition successfully, and schools are overburdened with the task of preparing students for success in high school and beyond.
