Massillon Boyd

Youth Apprentice Massillon Boyd provides new insight into the lives of many students in Illinois through his contributions to projects centered around postsecondary currency and endorsements for students, research on existing currencies, and data collection on how to best serve students after their secondary education.

In addition to his role on the EdSystems team, Mass seeks to tear down the barriers that hold students back from advancing themselves to create a level playing field of equity within education. He works under the Illinois State Board of Education as president of the Illinois Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) Board to spread awareness about CTSOs, their benefits for students seeking to advance themselves, and barriers to accessing these organizations. Mass is part of a CTSO himself, specifically, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, for which he serves as the state president, collaborating with his fellow officers to lead and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. He also serves on the Illinois Education and Career Success Network’s Student Advisory Council.

Massillon is currently a senior at West Aurora Senior High School and plans to major in biology for his postsecondary studies.
